France post part 2!
Okay so we were in Grumpytown. Hence the grumpiness.
This is where they assigned some of us single rooms. SINGLE! Strange town with strange people and they want us to sleep alone. Sure. Thank God the teachers decided to be nice and let us bunk with our buddies who had single rooms as well or else I would've died of fear in the middle of the night. Or not wake up the next morning since I'm a heavy sleeper. Day 6
First we went to a mining museum! It was quite scary to see the conditions people used to work in. And the noise like omg I would've gone deaf at the end of the first week. But we got to wear cool yellow helmets and ride on a cool yellow train.
 Next we went to....
How is it that no one else's hair was affected by the wind?!
And this is when we stayed in Belgium (Actually I think it was the night before this as well, I can't really remember haha). The hostel was. Interesting? Don't you think it looks like a prison cell, with the brick wall and all. I bunked with the other 3 412ers while everyone else bunked in sixes. ALL of us used the same toilet for three nights, and after the first night, two out of the three cubicles couldnt flush so basically all 40 of us used the same toilet bowl. Haha. At least the showers worked. And because there were other, erm, suspicious foreigners in the hostel, security became damn tight, like the male teachers would patrol up and down the corridors during bathing times. It was quite comforting to be greeted with the sight of Mr Mizar with a kain pelekat over his head and Mr Chew in shorts first thing in the morning. HAHAHA. And to prevent things from getting "lost" they made us pack three days worth of clothes, toiletries, etc into like a plastic bag and dump everything else in the bus, which was quite tiring because we had to really think of all the stuff we needed cos we couldnt access our luggage for the next few days. To top it all off, our room light wasnt working. Awesome, no? At least there the sun sets at like 9pm so it wasnt that bad.
Day 7 Went to La Coupole, an underground bunker designed by Nazis to store the secret missile thing Hitler was planning to launch but never did. I actually learned a few things here from watching the videos. I dont have pics, they're with Ying Qi I think? And then we went shopping! Hence the absence of pictures. It was quite fun, but didnt exactly buy a lot of things. Unlike Ruiling who bought tons of shoes and clothes and accesories. Tsk. Day 8 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. Haha. I was quite miserable the whole day but nevermind that. We left Belgium, hooray! Travelled 440km (I KNOW RIGHT) to D-Day Memorial Museum.
I enjoyed Crystal's company today (only) because she was as easily distracted as I was so we did stupid things. Haha.
And then we checked into another Youth Hostel which was equally interesting as the Belgium one, but in a more positive way. It was very pretty, with like huge chess sets and hopscotches and a beautiful dining hall. BUT. There were no toilets hahaha. Each room had like, a basin. Our room didnt even have a basin but we did have a toilet right outside our room which everyone else ended up using anyway so yes. No shower, so no one showered that night and the next morning. Except the teachers cos naturally their rooms were much nicer decorated and had better facilities.
So that night Gerard decided to bring us on a walking tour of the town.
Day 9 Went to a D-Day landing musuem. [digress] how pretty is this carousel! [/digress]
It was very beautiful outside the 360-cinema place. FINALLY, a real hotel! With a Muslim cook so we could eat the meat woohoo! Had THE most awesome 3-course dinner, my stomach almost exploded at the end of it. But damn good, it was. And boy oh boy were we glad to get a proper bathroom that night, with bathtub and all!
Day 10 Chateau! Which means castle. I enjoyed this better than Versailles actually, at least we got to spend more than 10mins there. We wanted to find the maze, but naturally we were nowhere close to where it was cos we took some ulu road and pretended to get lost.
Of course, the maze was right at the entrance. Then we went back to PARIS! I love Paris. They saved the best hotel for last! Day 11 Off to KL! Flight wasnt too bad this time, I was in less pain but more boredom. Day 12 SINGAPORE! I left a ton of things out, wait for Amelina to blog if you want all the details!
